About Us
First Community Church of the Nazarene began as a weekly bible study over twenty years ago. Over time the study group expanded significantly and the idea of starting a church was born.
In 1993, Valhalla United Methodist Church opened its doors to allow the small group to hold services in their building. Years later, the small group became a small congregation and the small congregation purchased a 4.1 acre parcel of land in White Plains, NY. The Greenburgh Building Department approved final building plans in September 2003 and the church moved to the new site in March 2006.

Who We Are
First Community is a discipleship-training center where people of all ages, gender and ethnicity learn how to live victoriously in this ungodly world. We envision a ministry in which Devoted Disciples of Christ, mature in their faith, are joyfully serving the Lord and passing on the historic Christian faith to others. These new disciples will in turn be trained to experience the same and train others. (2 Timothy 2:2) First Community seeks to make Caring disciples for Christ, while meeting the basic, social and material needs within our community. We intend to use creative, innovative and spiritually impactful methods to reach the various people groups in the Tri-state communities and beyond.
We are particularly desirous of developing a generation of children and youth who are unapologetically, disciples of Jesus Christ. They will not only possess a commanding knowledge of the Bible, but will also be skillful in presenting the gospel to their peers. Through organized service projects, locally and internationally, we will endeavor to meet the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of others as we build God’s Kingdom and model his divine love and care to those in need. In a world where individuals and families are blind, broken and bound, we offer the work of our hands and our hearts as a genuine expression of God’s love. We also offer the best remedy for the deepest human need - A REDEEMING RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST. In Christ, there is healing, deliverance, strength, hope and real meaning to life.
